Stephen Noble – Featured Runner of the Week

Stephen Noble – Featured Runner of the Week

This week is our 16th edition of our favorite weekly post. Stephen Noble – Featured Runner of the Week is another amazing spotlight and we are honored to feature him here. The aim of having a Featured Runner of the Week is not to necessarily single out any individuals, but we want to feature runners who through their uniqueness may one day inspire you to run or reach for new running highs. Every runner has broken their own barriers, whether it was the first big obstacle to take the first running step or entering a race. Each runner will have their own story and to most these stories to others are very inspiring.

We welcome your feedback and nominations of runners who you feel deserve to be featured here. Our Featured Runner of the Week is selected at random. Every runner deserves to be mentioned and we will do our best to select a wide field of runners to bring their stories for you to enjoy.

This week we feature another amazing local runner that can be found running and racing around town. Let’s take a few minutes and get to know Stephen Noble.

Name: Stephen Noble Stephen Noble - Featured Runner of the Week

Age: 29

Where are you originally from? Monroe, Georgia

What originally got you into running?  One of my High School friends convinced me that I would be a halfway descent runner while simultaneously guilt tripping me into believing there wouldn’t be enough guys on the cross country team to complete a score if I didn’t join.

What is your main motivation to keep going?  The infinite possibilities out there waiting to be experienced and the sense of accomplishment when the hard work you put in each day pays off and helps you conquer those goals.  Even if nothing else is going your way, finishing even a short, easy run can make you feel productive and satisfied.

When you’re not running, what do you do?  I’m a huge Atlanta area sports nerd so right now watching the Braves games all summer with my pug, Bandit.

What is your next race?  Badder Marsh Night Ultra 50k on 24 June 2017 Stephen Noble - Featured Runner of the Week

Describe your perfect run:  I don’t necessarily have a perfect setting or distance.  I have the most fun running socially with friends from work or folks from the running group because it’s always entertaining and the miles fly by when you have company.

What piece of advice do you have for someone who is just starting out?  I used to get discouraged by races I came up short on or intimidated by faster people or farther distances.  I would definitely tell someone to focus on the things they are accomplishing every day to work towards their own future running/racing goals instead and to just enjoy the present.

What has been the single greatest thing you have gotten back from running?  Over the past year I have fallen back in love with the running experience so just truly enjoying the lifestyle and being a part of the local running community has been wonderful.

Goals for this year?  Would love to finish a 50 miler some time this fall.  Looking at theStephen Noble - Featured Runner of the Week Delirium Ultra race for my attempt.

Thank you for taking the time to tell us your story this week Stephen! You continue to inspire those around you through your support of the local running community. Stephen has been a very active member of the Beaufort Track Club since we relaunched the USATF Organized Club in November. Keep up the great work and we wish you the best of luck this weekend and with everything you do! #staygrounded #runbeaufort
