Gingerbread 5k: December 16, 2017

Gingerbread 5k Presented by Friends of Caroline

Friends of Caroline presents the Gingerbread 5K. This family friendly GingerBread 5k Grounded Runningrace, will take place on December 16, 2017, at 9 am, as part of their Annual Festival of Trees. Race starts and finishes at the Live Oaks Park, and takes runners through the streets of Port Royal. Costumes encouraged. Online registration ends on December 13, 2017. Race day registration is available from 7:30 to 8:30 am. Packet pick can be done on race day beginning at 7:30 am, or on December 15, 2017 at Grounded Running. Race entry includes t-shirt, (must register by December 1st to guarantee t-shirt). Chip timing conducted by Grounded Running. Medals will be given to top three overall male and female finishers, as well as top three male and female finishers from each age group. Medals given to top three costume winners. After the race, join us for a session of yoga among the trees.

Friends of Caroline is dedicated to providing hospice services that offer hope, encouragement and care to those who live with a life threatening illness, as well as support for their families, friends and the community.

Race Directors, Melissa Viets and Sara Schemel are excited to bring the Gingerbread 5k to Port Royal this year and grow this event into an annual tradition here in Beaufort. Tim Waz, owner of Grounded Running said, "This event will offer the local running community an opportunity to race through the beautiful Spanish moss covered oaks of Port Royal and help benefit an amazing local organization."

Race Distance: 5K

Age Groups: 0-12, 13-19, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60-69, 70 and up.

Award Details: Medals will be given to top three overall male and female finishers, as well as top three male and female finishers from each age group. Medals given to top three costume winners.
