The 2017 Beaufort Charities 5k/ 10k and Fun Run will take place on Saturday March 4, 2017 at 4:00pm. The race will begin at the Port Royal Oyster Shed located at Live Oaks Park, 14th Street Port Royal, SC 29935. Registration is now available online through Active.com.

The annual oyster roast and 5k/ 10K run is held the first weekend of March. In its 12th year, the Oyster Roast has raised over $400,000 in NET proceeds and has an annual average attendance of over 1400. Featuring local Beaufort oysters, local bands, premium micro-brews, a revised 5k and 10k race course, a full day children’s program, live and silent auctions and local vendors offering varied fairs, there is no other event like it in Beaufort.

“This event has such a positive impact on our area as all of the funds raised remain right here in Beaufort. The Beaufort Charities is non profit 501(c) 3 organization located in Beaufort, South Carolina. Entering its 42nd year, The Beaufort Charities has generated over $1.2M in net proceeds for local need organizations in Northern Beaufort County. Operating under established By-Laws the organization is governed by a seven member Board of Directors with a defined mission statement: “The Beaufort Charities is a philanthropic organization focused on generating funds to be specifically used for local need organizations which possess a worthy objective and program of service in Northern Beaufort County.”
