Everyone at Grounded Running Beaufort would like to thank everyone12 Hours for Hope - Grounded Running that made “12 Hours for Hope” a huge success! We are still in the process of finalizing the donation count along with several per mile pledges, but we raised over $2000 for Hopeful Horizons! I ended up running 65.5 Miles over the course of 12 Hours. I was so happy to see everyone support this cause and greatly appreciated all the in-store support over the course of the event.

To celebrate Grounded Running Beaufort’s one year anniversary, owner, Tim Waz wanted to do something to help support the community that surrounds his running and walking specialty shoe store in Port Royal, SC. He decided to partner with Hopeful Horizon’s and came up with an in-store event 12 Hours for Hope. On Saturday morning, November 4th 2017, Tim will begin running at 7:00am on his in-store treadmill and will continue to run for 12 hours. “During this event we hope to raise awareness for Hopeful Horizon’s and all the support they give to the local community” Waz stated.

Waz is a lifelong runner and personally enjoys running Ultra marathons, which are races longer than a typical 26.2 mile marathon. He has competed in multiple 100+ mile races but this will be his first time spending this much time on a stationary treadmill. “I wanted to do something different so the idea of 12 hours on the treadmill hit me about a month ago, when we were trying to come up with an event for our 12 month anniversary… to me it only made sense.” Waz said with a laugh.12 Hours of Hope - Grounded Running Beaufort
